About the Couple
Like many couples getting married in the last couple of years, Jessica and Aaron were forced to adapt their wedding plans around the ever-changing conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their Builders Building wedding celebration was their “Wedding 2.0” after tying the knot in an intimate rooftop elopement at Navy Pier in the summer of 2021. My Favorite Moments
Jessica and Aaron are Chicago residents, and it only made sense for them to get married in the heart of the city they love so much. In fact, their Builders Building wedding celebration took place just a few blocks down the street from their downtown Chicago apartment! Some of my favorite moments from the wedding day included:
Beautiful details with loose rose petals and laughter among Jessica’s closest friends as she got ready in a suite at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, and an epic petal toss photo with all of her girls.
Jessica wore a delicate pair of Bella Bella shoes for their original wedding date back in 2021, and these shoes made a second appearance for wedding 2.0!
We made a miniature photo tour around some of Jessica and Aaron’s favorite spots in Chicago, including a beautiful first look and bridal party portraits at the Ulysses S. Grant memorial in Lincoln Park. And — we just barely missed a summer rain storm to take a few more images together at the Wrigley Building. But the beautiful portraits didn’t stop there! Jessica and Aaron were really hoping for a chance for golden hour images, and the weather delivered! We were lucky enough to sneak out of cocktail hour and capture a handful of glowing bride and groom portraits over looking the Chicago river.
Floral design and styling were a priority for Jessica and Aaron, and the centerpiece of their wedding florals by Luci Foral Design was their ceremony arch that doubled as a backdrop for their sweetheart table. The addition of an LED “I love you so much” sign perfectly set the mood for their wedding reception!
About the Venue at the Builders Building
The centerpiece of the Builders Building wedding venue is the vaulted atrium, with neutral marble throughout and a grand staircase for a stunning ceremony and reception entrance. Constructed in 1927, the venue is filled with beaux-arts details throughout. Wedding day amenities include gold Chiavari chairs, table linens, custom napkin colors, 14 different accent lighting areas with a variety of color options, as well as onsite security and a dedicated venue manager.
The Builders Building wedding venue is equipped to host up to 150 guests for a seated dinner in the ballroom (including space for a dance floor), or up to 350 guests seated for a theater-style dinner split between two levels. Additional features include custom ice-displays to highlight your special occasion, as well as a dedicated bridal room during your event rental.
