About the Shoot
It all began over drinks! Back in January 2021, I was at a photography conference with some of my good friends and colleagues — all top photographers from across the US. Tom Russo, Christora Osters, Rachel Elle, Andrea Sabo and I all agreed that we wanted to see each other than once a year at a wintry photo conference. So, while relaxing over drinks at the conference meet-and-greet session, we agreed to plan a content retreat on my home turf of Chicagoland.
A few short months later in June, we met in the northern suburbs of Chicago to relax, create art together, and help each other better our craft. Our wedding editorial shoot at The Covenant at Murray Mansion was one of three styled photo sessions we executed over the course of our week-long content retreat. Our goal for this session was to capture some of our favorite moments from luxury wedding celebrations: beautiful details, lush florals, historic architecture, and real, genuine love. Our shoot featured Isis and Simon, a real couple, as well as Colleen, our solo bride.

About The Covenant at Murray Mansion
Once a Danish church, The Covenant at Murray Mansion, located in Racine, Wi, is now a beautiful wedding venue for fine art-inspired brides and grooms. With a pure white interior, the former church sanctuary has been transformed into a modern, light and airy event space, while preserving beautiful stained glass details, 30-foot ceilings, and an incredibly unique feature piece — the church’s old pipe organ was turned into bar!
While the main event space at The Covenant can accommodate up to 320 guests, our shoot focused on one of the more intimate spaces at the venue: Murray Mansion itself. When it was first constructed, Murray Mansion was one of the largest Italianate structures in Wisconsin; the fully-restored home preserves many of the original appointments from 1874, including beautiful ceiling medallions, a grand staircase, and our teams’ personal favorite: the white marble fireplace! This intimate space can host up to 75 guests for a small wedding or intimate elopement.
We could not have executed such a beautiful wedding editorial at The Covenant at Murray Mansion without an all-star team of professionals. I am so grateful to call the vendors below friends as well as colleagues. Thank you all for your generous contributions to this shoot!
