The Venue at the Milwaukee Art Musuem

Ceremony and Reception Locations

Quadracci Pavilion

If you want to say “I do” with one of the most dramatic backdrops in the Midwest, then the Milwaukee Art Musuem’s Quadracci Pavilion is as iconic as it gets, with towering white walls, plenty of oversized windows overlooking Lake Michigan for ample natural light, and white marble floors to match. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, this addition to the musuem includes an auditorium and two long gallerias.

Schroeder and Baumgartner Gallerias

Both of these gallerias feature stunning white architectural details to add a modern twist to your nuptials and are perfectly sized for cocktails and other informal gatherings.

Baumgartner Terrace

With expansive south-facing views, Baumgartner Terrace is the perfect fair-weather venue for an outdoor dinner or cocktail reception, allowing your guests to appreciate both the modern lines of the museum’s exterior as well as Lake Michigan. The terrace overlooks the museum’s south lawn, which provides 200 x 150 feet of level grass.

Windhover Hall

Located within the Quadracci Pavillion, this is the Milwaukee Art Museuem’s largest rental space, perfectly suited for a seated dinner reception. Windhover Hall can accomodate up to 450 guests seated for dinner, or up to 800 guests cocktail-style.

Every rental agreement for a Milwaukee Art Museum wedding provides access to the entire Quadracci Pavilion (“The Wings”) as well as Windhover Hall, Lubar Auditorium, the Baumgartner Terrace, and both gallerias. You may schedule your ceremony and reception anytime between the hours of 5:30 pm and midnight. Private events such as weddings may only take place after the musuem has closed to the public.
