Claire & Isaac: Romantic North Avenue Beach Engagement Photos Chicago, IL
How did you meet?
We met at the beginning of medical school. Our friendship started because we lived in the same building. Isaac needed someone to keep him accountable for going to class on time so we would walk to class in the morning together. We were in the same friend group and doing random things together. Eventually, we were spending more time together than apart.
How long have you been together?
We’ve been friends for almost five years and dating for three years.
How did you fall in love?
Our love grew from friendship, we knew each other really well and were very comfortable sharing our thoughts. The moment I realized I had feelings for him was after I got home after spending a whole day in the city together and realized all I wanted to do was hang out with him again.
How did he propose?
It was both a long time coming and a spontaneous proposal! We actually had the ring for over a year but his original proposal plan was postponed and then cancelled due to COVID. We took a trip to Sedona this past February and he brought the ring on all our hikes waiting for the right moment. At the top of Cathedral Rock was the most beautiful sunset. The view was magical and we found a private spot where he asked the question! He gave his camera to a bystander just to capture the moment and the guy turned out to be a professional photographer!
North Avenue Beach Engagement Photos
North Avenue Beach is one of the most popular summer destinations for Chicago locals and visitors alike, and for good reason! With a unique beach house designed to evoke the style of a classic ocean liner, plenty of clean sand, clear blue water, and a long pier for epic lake and skyline views, this was the perfect location for Claire and Isaac’s North Avenue Beach engagement photos.
It was very important to Claire and Isaac that we capture the skyline as part of their North Avenue beach engagement photos, as Chicago was the city where they met and fell in love.
After we captured Claire and Isaac’s North Avenue Beach engagement photos, we headed over to the Nature Boardwalk in Lincoln Park to add more variety to their engagement session. Isaac brought plenty of style with a classic navy suit, and Claire looked stunning in a flowing floral print dress from Lulus.
What are you most excited about for the wedding?
We are most excited about having all of our closest friends and family together in one place celebrating our relationship and start of our new life. Also, our venue comes with an alpaca (our favorite animal) so I’m very excited about that too!
What do you love most about him?
I love that he challenges me but is also so patient. We grew up differently and have a lot of different views on life, but he accepts me and doesn’t expect me to be a certain way. He is there for me when I need it and always puts our relationship first.
What does he love most about you?
My favorite part about her is that she always tries to stay grateful and content but at the same time seeks to continually improve herself both inside and outside of our relationship.
What are your favorite hobbies to do together as a couple?
During COVID we have largely become couch potatoes and mainly just watch TV and play games together. But we love to do all kinds of things together like traveling and trying new restaurants, rock climbing, walking dogs and running/longboarding.
