My Favorite Moments
As Anna puts it, this celebration was the story of two cat people falling in love; through thoughtful design choices (and a wonderful surprise from Scott!) this couple blended the traditions of their Orthodox Jewish wedding in Chicago with their love for each other and several feline friends.
Anna began her day getting ready at a private residence near the same neighborhood where she grew up in Highland Park, and one of my favorite kitty-themed details was her mother’s heirloom necklace inscribed with a cat’s face. Also–can we talk about how gorgeous Anna’s flats were?
The couple shared a private first touch, reading love letters and personal vows to each other before transitioning to their first look and portraits around some of their favorite spots in Highland Park.
Anna and Scott were married at their home synagogue, North Suburban Lubavitch Chabad, and Anna’s vision for simple florals and lush greenery were perfect accent to the warm, exposed timber beams of the synagogue. Though she works in healthcare, Anna is a talented designer, and she perfectly executed a stunning set of black, white and gold escort cards for their post-wedding dinner celebration!
Once their Orthodox Jewish wedding in Chicago began in proper, Scott suprised Anna following the ketubah signing with another very special document–a personalized certificate of adoption for her two kitties!
The final feline-themed detail of the day came after the ceremony, when Anna and Scott cut a cake with a custom kitty cake topper etched with their initials and wedding date!
