My Favorite Moments
Like many couples this year, Caitlyn and Tom were forced to postpone their wedding plans due to the ongoing pandemic, but that didn’t stop them from have a joy-filled and family-focused wedding at the Westin Chicago Northwest!
Caitlyn began the day getting ready with her mom and bridesmaids, and the joy and laughter of the morning took a pause when one of the groomsmen dropped off an envelope — a heartfelt letter from Tom!
The sweet moments didn’t stop there, though, as Caitlyn had a special surprise planned for her bridesmaids, too, with a special reveal of her wedding gown by Morilee.
Before their wedding ceremony at Caitlyn’s home church, St. James of Arlington Heights, Caitlyn shared a tear-filled first look with her dad on the front steps of the church before he walked her in to see Tom for the first time that day. With the help of their mothers, Caitlyn and Tom commemorated their new commitment to each other with a unity candle and then sealed the deal with a first kiss for the ages.
Throughout the wedding day, I loved seeing how Caitlyn wove shades of blue and pink throughout the theme — from delicate blue and pink florals, deep blue bridesmaid dresses from Azazie — and even the interior of the church coordinated with her soft blue and pink theme!
Including their family in the wedding was a top priority for Caitlyn and Tom, and that goal could not be accomplished without getting a photo with the pup of honor, their yellow lab, Sadie! After the wedding ceremony at St. James, we met up with Sadie and the happy couple for some beautiful outdoor portraits at Busse Woods Forest Preserve.
Also — can we just take a minute and talk about how cute Sadie looked in her floral collar made by Petals N Bloom???
Caitlyn and Tom’s Westin Chicago Northwest wedding reception was a reflection of their values — a family dinner filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and formal dances that left everyone smiling, laughing, or crying happy tears. Caitlyn and Tom, thank you again for allowing the JHP team to tell a small part of your love story by capturing your Westin Chicago Northwest wedding celebration in 2021.
